Why Polaris OEM Clutches Fail
Your Polaris primary clutch is one of the hardest-working parts in the CVT system. It controls how engine RPM is transferred into belt squeeze, acceleration and shifting. From the factory, the clutch is calibrated around the original tire size, vehicle weight and intended use.
As the clutch wears, bushings, rollers, sheaves and internal components can lose consistency. The result is belt slip, poor takeoff, heat, vibration and repeated belt failure.

How Oversized Tires Destroy Clutches
Bigger tires do far more than change the look of your machine. A tire that is 2–5 inches taller than stock adds rotating mass, increases rolling resistance and effectively changes the final drive ratio. The engine now has to work harder to move the same vehicle.
When the OEM clutch is still calibrated for the original tire size, it may struggle to keep the engine in the proper RPM range. That creates belt slip, excess heat, poor acceleration and accelerated clutch wear.
More Load
Larger tires are heavier and harder to turn, especially from a stop.
More Heat
Extra belt slip creates heat, which hardens and glazes the belt.
More Wear
Heat and slip wear out clutch components faster and can lead to failure.
Choose Your Tire Size Calibration
UEW Polaris TrailBloc clutch listings include selectable tire-size options so you can match the clutch to how your machine is actually set up.
Current Stock Tire Size
Best for machines running factory-size tires or tires very close to original diameter and weight.
2–5" Oversized Tires
Best for machines running larger-than-stock tires where added load has affected acceleration, belt life or clutch temperature.

Polaris TrailBloc Clutch FAQ
Do oversized tires really damage OEM clutches?
They can. Larger and heavier tires increase load on the CVT system and may cause slip, heat and faster wear.
Is the belt usually the real problem?
Not always. A belt often fails because the clutch is slipping, overheating or shifting incorrectly.
Should I choose stock or oversized tire calibration?
Choose stock for factory-size tires. Choose 2–5" oversized if your tires are significantly larger than stock.
Will this clutch make more horsepower?
No. A clutch does not create horsepower. It helps transfer power more efficiently.
What warranty does this clutch include?
UEW TrailBloc clutch options include a 2-year unlimited mile warranty.
